Our Year 12 Fine Art students have been working on some fantastic drawing studies this term, the Department is extremely impressed with the high quality of work that they have produced. Season’s Greetings from the QEHS Art Department!
Our Year 12 Design and Technology students have been exploring the process of laminating with timber to produce curved forms. Here they are watching a student-led demonstration.
We are delighted that Caitlin McCleary, one of our former Year 13 students, won an award for her performance in the 2018 Salters Advanced Chemistry exam. She recently attended the Salters’ Institute Awards Ceremony on Friday 7 December 2018, an evening celebrating high levels of excellence within the science education sector. Congratulations Caitlin – a fantastic achievement!

Year 13 students have mock exams for all A Level courses from 1 – 7 February 2019. There are revision preparation information sheets from each subject on the Year 13 Assessment/Mock Exam Resources Page, also accessible via the Year 13 Curriculum Page. More information regarding the Mock Exams will be sent out in the new year.

Year 13 Biologists visited the Centre for Life on Monday/Tuesday this week to carry out an analysis of one of their own genes. The students isolated DNA, and carried out PCR and a restriction digest before carrying out gel electrophoresis in order to work out which alleles they have.
