Senior Maths Challenge

Mrs James recently took a team of four Sixth Form students to the Senior Maths Team Challenge at Northumbria University. The students decided that they would just turn up and enjoy the maths rather than do weeks of preparation, and were very pleased to come 5th out of 20 teams. They were great and the teacher who worked with them

First Aid Training

Year 12 and 13 students took part in First Aid courses run by St. John’s Ambulance at QEHS during November 2018. Students found the day very informative and interactive and have received a certificate for completing the combined Basic First Aid and Essential First Aid course. Students who completed the course can collect their Personal Protection Kit from the Pastoral Office.

Sunday Times Parent Power

Food Bank Collection Update

Earlier this month QEHS students, parents/carers and staff collected donations for West Northumberland Food Bank: thank you for your help and support! This year we filled 30+ crates along with numerous bags which were taken to the Food Bank. The Tutor Group competition was won by Ms Curry’s tutor group (9-HAC) who filled 7+ crates with donations in the school.

Exam Certificate Collection

If you sat exams in Summer 2018 then your exam certificates are now ready for collection from the Exams Office in the Hydro Building, which is open between 9:30am and 1:30pm, Monday to Friday. Please collect your certificates before the end of March 2019. Any unclaimed certificates will eventually be returned to the exam board. Please be aware that exam

Community Art Project

Three of our students have just completed another art project in the community, creating new paintings to show alongside an artist in an exhibition in Hexham Community Hospital. We are delighted with the success of the young artists Halle Poppy, Rosie and Lilah who have worked hard to create the beautiful paintings outside their normal art lessons, reacting sensitively to

Y10 Technology Projects

This last half term our Year 10 Design and Technology students have completed a practical projects working with different wood joints. During the project the Year 10s learned about a variety of ways of working with and joining timber. Overall there was an excellent quality of work. Well done all!
