Our Year 13 Physics students greatly enjoyed their recent trip to Geneva with Ms Coombe and Mr Cornish. On the first day they visited the UN and on the second day they had the chance to see the Large Hadron Collider.

Over the last six months, we have been working alongside officers from Northumberland County Council, the Education and Skills Funding Agency and technical advisors, to explore the potential for new buildings for Hexham Middle School and Queen Elizabeth High School. Our Year 8 Taster Days, for all students planning to join Year 9 of QEHS in September 2019, will take place on Monday 11, Tuesday 12, and Wednesday 13 February 2019. We are holding a talk about apprenticeships. The talk is for parents/carers of all Year 11 students who might like to apply for an apprenticeship to start from this summer. Alongside school guidance, we have ‘Ask Apprenticeships’ presenting on local and regional opportunities. The presentation will take place on Wednesday 13 February 2019, 6.30pm to 7.30pm, in the school Theatre.
