On Friday 30 November 2018, 28 Year 13 BTEC Business students travelled to Leeds with their teachers for an intense and fast-paced revision day in Leeds. The day, led by Tutor2U, supported the Business and Personal Finance unit. This exam is on Wednesday 16 January; good luck to all our Year 13 Business students!
Students of Ms Curry’s tutor group, 9-HAC, were rewarded with a breakfast in the Sixth Form Café on Friday 16 November for their fantastic efforts when collecting donations for West Northumberland Food Bank. Mrs James recently took a team of four Sixth Form students to the Senior Maths Team Challenge at Northumbria University. The students decided that they would just turn up and enjoy the maths rather than do weeks of preparation, and were very pleased to come 5th out of 20 teams. They were great and the teacher who worked with them
Year 12 and 13 students took part in First Aid courses run by St. John’s Ambulance at QEHS during November 2018. Students found the day very informative and interactive and have received a certificate for completing the combined Basic First Aid and Essential First Aid course. Students who completed the course can collect their Personal Protection Kit from the Pastoral Office.
Our Hockey Leaders from Years 9-11 did a brilliant job running the recent Quicksticks Festival held at QEHS. Well done to all students involved!
QEHS has been ranked 163 in the country (out of 3,000+) schools and second in the North East in the annual Sunday Times Parent Power rankings, released yesterday. James Andriot, Head of School, said “this is another pleasing affirmation that GCSE and A Level students did so well in their exams last summer. As I said at that time, results
