Following the success of the Christmas card project for residents of Lowgate and Haydon View Care Homes at Christmas, QEHS students got involved with the Covid-19 Community Care Group to spread some cheer to the residents at Easter. Students made cards, decorations and presents which were put with donations of Easter eggs from TESCO and CO-OP to create Easter hampers.
Asymptomatic testing is a key part of keeping the school and wider community safe and stopping the transmission of covid. Please continue to test twice weekly through the Easter holidays and make sure your child takes a test before returning to school on April 12th. QEHS will be supporting Comic Relief Red Nose Day by hosting a Non-Uniform day on Friday 26th March. We will be collecting donations during form time and ask for a suggested £1 minimum donation. Please note we won’t be able to supply change so please ensure you bring the correct coins. Thank you for your support of this worthy cause.
On Tuesday 2 March, we lost our much loved colleague, teacher and friend, Chris Scott. Chris, a modest, unassuming, gentle man, was a big presence in our community and touched a lot of lives. He was tireless in his efforts to support and enable our students, and always had time for others. He was an outstanding leader of our PE

A huge thank you to all the amazing testing volunteers who have given up so much of their time to support with the asymptomatic testing in school. They have carried out over 3500 tests across 5 days and have helped the students return to lessons more quickly. We could not have done it without them!
