Staff at Queen Elizabeth High School, Hexham, are delighted with the results achieved by students in their examinations this year. The school presented over 300 students for a wide range of qualifications. The majority of students have achieved the results required to continue to sixth form. Others have successfully gained entry to colleges and apprenticeships due to their results. 85% of students achieved a 9-4 in mathematics, English Literature or English Language and over 60% gaining grades 9-5 in both English and mathematics. Students at QEHS continue to excel in a range of qualifications, with many doing well in science, art, music and a range of other subjects.
Neil Seaton, Head of School, said: “It was joyful to see many of our students in school this morning to collect their results and share in their excitement. The results achieved are a credit to the students, their families and all the staff. We are looking forward to welcoming the vast majority back to sixth form and send the rest of our alumni into further education or employment with best wishes”.
Amanda Fletcher-Woods, Assistant Head Teacher, said: “Staff at QEHS are committed to making sure that students achieve the best possible outcomes in their examinations. Our students have been incredibly positive, calm and mature throughout their studies. I am proud of what the staff and students have achieved this year.”
