This week, Year 11 geographers are investigating where, how and why the Cockshaw Burn floods in Hexham. As part of their enquiry, they are walking part of its length, drawing field sketches of drainage basin features and measuring channel characteristics. It has been a great opportunity for students to apply their theoretical understanding after a long period of classroom based learning. The students have very much enjoyed it.
