Final Open Morning – Tuesday 1 October 2019: 9.10am-11.00am
I hope that those of you who managed to come along to one of our open mornings in July found the opportunity to look at QEHS in action both interesting and informative. For those who have been unable to attend so far, there is a final opportunity to see the school during the working day on Tuesday 1 October 2019. The tour will start at 9.10am and finish at 11.00am.
For safety reasons we would ask you not to arrive before 9.00am. Parking will be available on the school tennis courts in front of the lower school. If you would like to book a place on the open morning please email cgaines@qehs.net or telephone 01434 610301.
Information Evening – Wednesday 2 October 2019: 7:00pm-8.00pm
If you have been unable to attend a tour during the working day I would like to invite you to attend an information evening on Wednesday 2 October 2019 at 7.00pm. The evening is an opportunity for those who have not been able to attend a daytime talk and tour to hear the presentation that was made during the school tours. I am delighted to say that our GCSE results this summer were outstanding once again, with 77% of students achieving 9-4 (previously known as A*-C) in maths and English. Furthermore, 59% of students attained 9-5 in maths and English (known as a higher-grade pass). Our sixth form performance this year was excellent too, maintaining the best A Level and vocational results we have ever had. This is likely to place us above most state and independent schools in the region.
Application process
If, following your visit, you wish your son or daughter to secure a place at Queen Elizabeth High School for September 2020, an application needs to be made via Northumberland County Council by 31 October 2019. You will need to apply for a place in a High School irrespective of your child’s current school. In other words, the allocation of a place is not automatic. If you do not apply for a place on time, your child will not be offered one at a Northumberland school on national offers day which is 1 March 2020.
