In addition to the GCSE courses students also complete a BTEC in Personal Growth and Wellbeing.
We aim to make our curriculum bespoke to the learner in the provision, so other GCSEs and qualifications may be available.
Once students enter year 10, we also look to coordinate work experience placements for them to support their career development.
Students engage in a range of co-curricular activities to support their personal development, including cooking, horticulture, and career education with Newcastle United Futures.
We offer a limited number of external placements.

We expect our students to wear comfortable, dark plain clothing. Students can wear trainers and are expected to bring an outer layer.
Students are due to be in school by 9:30am. If students would like breakfast, they are welcome to attend from 9:00am. The day finishes at 3:00pm with an early finish at 2:30pm on Tuesday and we provide individual timetables for all students. Start and finish timings are subject to change due to partial timetables. £1 per week is given to the student’s gift card allowance if they have 100% attendance for that week.
Our students are expected to engage in all lessons and attempt all activities. Points are given for engagement which contribute to the student’s gift card allowance given at the end of term.
Mobile phones should be handed in during breakfast each morning and will be stored securely by staff. They are returned to students at social times and at the end of the day.
Our provision is a smoke-free site. Vapes, cigarettes, tobacco or lighters must be handed to the staff each morning and will be returned at the end of the day.
We are supporting our young people to prepare for life after school by developing timekeeping and personal responsibility. Our provision offers bespoke social space for students. Students are welcome to remain in the provision at break and lunchtimes but may also leave the site during these periods. Students sign out at main reception and are expected to return promptly at 1.20pm. Students have a direct contact number of our SEMH teacher and are expected to keep in touch with any concerns. Parents/Carers are immediately informed if students do not return on time.
