This week saw the annual debate between the debate club and the green club. The motion was: This House would fine people for not recycling. The speeches on both sides were excellent with some insightful comments in the floor debate. The audience felt that the time had come for harsher action to stop climate change and the motion was carried by 16 votes to 6. Next week the club will debate whether or not we regret the rise of social media influencers.
