Four lower sixth students took part in the Celebration and Assessment Day (CAD) of the Engineering Education Scheme (EES) at Newcastle University on 21 April 2017. QEHS won the “Pupils’ Choice Award” for the second year running, which was voted for by students from all 30 schools taking part. During the day, the students gave a 15-minute presentation on their project to a panel of expert assessors. They were then quizzed on their grasp of the brief. They were highly commended, by the assessors, for their depth of knowledge and understanding, the clarity of the presentation and for their breadth of research.
