QEHS is gearing up for Sport Relief, with a number of events taking place Monday 19 – Friday 23 March 2018.

Our Year 9, 10 and 11 students will be running a sponsored mile during their core PE lessons. The students have a sponsor form to collect sponsorship from family and friends and can run further than a mile if they want to!

Our Sixth Form students are setting up a spinning bike in the Sixth Form Cafe, with the aim of keeping it going between them all week.  Students and staff will be able to spur them on and give donations via collections next to the bike.  Sixth Form are also organising sponsored volleyball and dodgeball events.

Our staff are running a sweepstake to guess how many steps Paralympic sprinter Jonnie Peacock will track on the Sport Relief app in one day.

Stay tuned for an update of all the money raised and photos of all the sporting activities through the week!

Last week 21 students from our partner school in Steinhagen visited Hexham for the first leg of the annual German exchange. Despite snowy conditions, the guests were given a warm welcome by their host families and enjoyed five days of cultural activities including trips to Edinburgh, Newcastle, Durham and Beamish, as well as spending a day shadowing their partners during lessons.

The Spring Concert has been rescheduled to Tuesday 20 March 2018. Click on the poster below for more details.

The timetable for the Year 12 internal exams during April 2018 is now available. Individual student timetables will be handed out soon.

Year 10 and Year 12 have just returned to school following an exciting week in Madrid on the Spanish exchange. Students stayed with Spanish families and thus learnt a lot about Spanish family life.
